BIOGRAFIA

Allan Van Blue é o nome artístico de Paulo Vasconcelos, que começou a pintar em 1999, aos 24 anos de idade quando entrou no curso de Artes Plásticas na Universidade de São Paulo. Teve excelentes professores e, mesmo não tendo concluído a faculdade, nela adquiriu a base para começar seu trabalho autoral. Desde então já fez mais de 490 pinturas, a maioria das quais abstratas e algumas figurativas.

Allan Van Blue iniciou algumas séries de pinturas que vem desenvolvendo desde que começou sua carreira e outras que começou a pintar mais recentemente. Nelas, destaca-se a poética do abstrato, às vezes geométrico e às vezes mais informal, com a presença de cores intensas, e a recorrência do preto.

Sua poética vem de suas vivências e aprendizados durante sua vida e da faculdade de Relações Internacionais da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, em que se formou em 1998. As bandeiras dos países, sua geometria e suas cores intensas foram umas de suas primeiras inspirações.

Conheceu os EUA em 1992, e a França em 1997, quando teve a oportunidade de aprender inglês e francês. Essas viagens contribuíram para seu repertório imagético, influenciaram sua pintura e lhe deram uma experiência de vida inefável, ao colocá-lo em contato com outras culturas e outros povos.

Trabalha e reside em Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brasil. Participou de várias exposições individuais e coletivas. É membro da Associação Piracicabana dos Artistas Plásticos. Possui obras no Museu da Escola de Agronomia da Universidade de São Paulo, e em coleções no Brasil e no exterior.

BIOGRAPHY

Allan Van Blue is the artistic name of Paulo Vasconcelos, who started painting in 1999, at the age of 24, when he entered the college of Fine Arts at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. He has learned with excellent teachers and, even though he didn´t finish his formal studies, he acquired enough experience to start his authorial work. Since then, Allan has made over 490 paintings, most of them abstract and a few figurative ones.

Allan Van Blue started painting series that he has developed since the beginning of his career, and others that he started to paint more recently. In these series, what stands out is the theme of abstraction, mostly geometrical, and the presence of intense colors and the black.

His poetic comes from his living and learning throughout life and during his studies of International Relations at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, having graduated in 1998. The flags of the countries, their geometry and intense colors were some of his first inspirations.

Allan Van Blue was an exchange student in Scranton, USA, in 1992, and studied in Paris, France in 1997, when he had opportunity to learn both english and french. These trips gave a great contribution to his imagery repertoire, influenced his future work and gathered an ineffable experience of life, by getting him in touch with different cultures and peoples.

Allan Van Blue works and resides in Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil. He has participated in several art exibitions. Member of the Associação Piracicabana dos Artistas Plásticos, some of his works are at the Museum of the College of Agronomy of the University of São Paulo, and in private collections in Brazil and abroad.
